The former News19 Player of the Week and the state's reigning Mr. Football had a prolific career playing for his father, RNE head coach Walt Wilson. The younger Wilson accounted for more than 11,000 all-purpose yards with 119 touchdowns during his career behind center, helping RNE advance to the playoffs in his junior and senior seasons.
Wilson says when he was a freshman at Richland Northeast, the idea of one day hosting his own football camp began to take shape in his mind and Saturday's event was the culmination of that vision.
An early enrollee at N.C. State, Wilson took part in December bowl practice and has already gone through spring practice with the Wolfpack.
